Actress Libelled. London, Jan. 12.—Miss Gladys Cooper, the popular actress, was successful to day in an action for libel brought against the London Mail, which devotes a deal of its space to personalities.
The
plaintiff, who in private life is a Mrs. H. Bookmaster, complained of an article which by innuendo, without mentioning n-mes, aug- gested that she was going to be divorced. The ground was her alleged misconduct with Gustava Hamel, the aviator, and Mr. Den- Die Badie, the well-known actor. The jury returned a verdict for the lady, awarding bar £1,200| damage.
