Despite the presence of the poisonone fames, Cairns and Dahrin went into the tank, and were successful in got ting the men out. Trevelyan' Mackenzie, opprentice, of the steamship Narragansett of Green- ook, James Rossiter, quarter master, and Edward D. Cunning ham and John Heary Price, seamen, of the steamship Devonian, of Liverpool, and John

MoAllister, seaman, of the steam ship Asian, of Liverpool. On the 8th October, 1913, while the steamship Volturno, of London, was in the North Atlantic Ocean, a fire broke out in the forward park of the ship. The men named above incarred considerable risk in Baving life from the baraing Leave Hongkong vessel. Alfred Marker Souter, chief officer of the steamship Invergyle, of Glasgow. On the 28th Novem 8th Feb. at 11 am ber, 1913, the brig Evelyn, of 19th Feb.
