Ján, 18. On the 10th the Allies continued to progress in the Nieuport and Lombsertzyde regions for a depth of about 200 metres. Their artillery compelled the Germans to evacuate their trenches on the Great Dane and destroyed one of their redana gorth of that place, also forcing the Germans to abandon two machine-gun shelters. German works to the south of St. Georges were also bombarded.
A lively action took place at Blangy, in the vicinity of Arras, where the Germans occupied a foundry, which was immediately re- taken.
The French artillery continued to break down the enemy's trenches near La Boiselle. Nothing is reported in the Soissons region.

Russians Seize Important Pass.
Jan. 17, 9.55 p.m.
A Petrograd communique announces that the Russians have seized the important Kirlibaba Pass, in the Carpathians, bordering on Transylvania.
The Russian Advance.
