Our market continues firm and a fair number of transactions have taken place, chiefly for inves'ment account.

Bar Silvor is quoted at 22,3 4 per oz. ready, market.

Exchange on London opened to day at 1/01, T.T.

Bauke.-Hongkong and Shanghai Banke have remained firm and close in demand at $760.

Marine Insurances-Cantons are quiet with sellers at $310 and buyers at $335. Unions have again advanced and exles have taken place at $760, closing steady. North Chinas are unchanged at Tls. 145. "Yangtazes have been placed at Tis: 205 Ex. 73.

Fire Insurance, China Fires are wanted at $148.1-2 after sales at $118.1-2 and $140. Hongkong Fires continue ateady at $385. Shipping,China and Manilas have been done at $0 and $5.1-2, closing with further buyers at the latter rate. Douglas's are offering at $20.1.2. Hongkong, Canton & Macao Steamboats can be obtained at $22, Lugera of small quantities offering $21, Indo Chints have been booked at various rates from $56:1-2 to $61, closing steady at the latter rate. Shell Transports have changed hands at 75

losing steady. Star Ferries are anobanged with sellere at $40.

Docks, Wharves and Godowns-Hongkong & Whampon Docks are on offer at $50 withont lending to business. Kowloon Wharves have sellers at $74. Shanghai Dooke have declined to Tla. 50. Hongkow Wharves have buyers in the north at Tls. 82.12.

Refineries-China Sugars are firm at $77 buyers, after sales at the rate. Luzons are a weak market at $17.
