Major-General Frederick William Nicholas McCracken, C.B., D.S.O., was born in 1859. He entered the army in 1879 and in 1887 was married to a daughter of the late Mr. T. C. Glover of Mount Grange, Edinburgh. He served in the Egyptian Osmpaign, Buakim oal in MoNeil's Zeriba, on the Egyptian frontier and in Guards, the action at Gintee.
