China Cotton. The past week has seen a fair amount of businese in China Cotton, local mills being the only buyers and some 16,000 to 20,000 Bales have changed bands. These sales are mostly speculative and the prices at which business has been done are in most instances much below the market quotations of the day. The general opinion of buyere seems bearish, while Chiceae merchants for the present do not feel disposed to part with their holdings at such low figures. I have no doubt however that no Booner than the immediate re- quirements of mills have been satisfed, prices here will not be maintained and we shall certainly see lower rates during the months of November/January.
