Ltd., bave launched from the new bertha at the east end of their shipyard at Hebbarn-on-Tyne the Glengyle, a handsomely modelled twin screw passenger and enrgo steamer for the service of the Glen Line (Messrs. McGregor, Gow and Co.) The principal dimensions are Length, 516 ft. 6 in breadth, 62 ft, 4 in., and depth 87 ft. 8 in, with a dead- weight capacity of 13,400 tons. Mercantile Marine There was launched last month from the works of Messrs. Cam- moll, Laird, at Birkenhead, the first of two steamera building by Navigation Company of Greece

for passenger and emigrant service to the United States. The asming ceremony was performed by Mme. Gennadian, the wife of the Hellenic Minister in London. The religious service of the Greek Church was conducted by the Very Rev. Archimandrite Dr. N. Yiannoulie. The vessel which was named the Vasilefs Constan.. tinos, is the largest in the Greek mercantile marine. She has a length of 500 feet, with a speed of 18 knots. Accommodation is provided for 660 first and second olsas passengers and 1,800 emigrants. The vessel is fitted with wireless telegraphy, and the lifeboat capacity is more than Bufficient for a full complement of passengers and crew.Mr. W. LHitchens (chairman of Cam mell, Lairda), who presided at the subsequent luncheon, read a congratulatory telegram from M. Venizelos, the Greek Premier. The Greek Minister said that was + memorable day for their mercantile marine since it added to their fleet the largest and the bost ship they had.
