The New German Service to New Zealand. Some particulars reached Lon- don on July 6 of the oargo of the German steamer Wismar, the first steamer to load on the Continent in the new direat service to New Zealand. The vessel began load- ing at Hamburg, proceeded to is now at Amsterdam, and Antwerp, about to leave for Now Zealand ports. The general cargo contains a certain amount of superphosphate, which is regularly shipped in large quantities from Germany, and is not of a character to cause the British shipping lines much un- easiness. It was known months. ago that this steamer would load in Germany, and therefore her movements are not complicating the negotiations which have been proceeding between the British and German linsa. The service is to be i intly conducted, se far as the Continental lines are concerned, by the Norddeutscher Lloyd and the Deutsch-Australi- sche Gesellschaft, and the next vessel to leave should be. n Norddeutscher Lloyd boat. Much interest will attach to the date of her sailing. The position San Francisco £45.

The British companied would see that their terms were quite as good as any offered by German lines, and can depend upon the loyal support of their slippere.
