The inquest was held at the gaol this afternoon, by Mr. J. R. Wood, the jurors being Mesere, S. . Dalton (foreman), Q. Vermey and K. Wehle.

Mr. Wood said they were there to consider the death of a man named Ibrahim, who was execut- ed that morning.

The first witness called was E. J. Pierpoint, Chief Wardor, The body the jury had just viewed, he said, was that of I- brahim, aged 42, a sepoy, who was received into prison on December 16, 1012, under sentence of death, which sentence was duly

According to reports from Chinese sources, immediate- ly following a conference hatween President Yuan Shih. kai, Ian Shih-cbang and Sun Tao-chi, urgent telegrama were despatched to the Military Commissioner in Szechunu, ordering an increase of the garrisons at frontier posts' with a view to resisting Tibetan attacks, but exprosely enjoining him not to take the offensive and not to proceed westward of the Chinese frontier.

The Chinese Afinister in London has been instructed to interview Sir Edward Croy in order to determine the. present attitude of the British Government in the direction of Tibet.
