By the jadicions ex penditure of very moderate sums of money.scores of rivere in China like the Fuho could be rendered navigable and become important highways of commerce, and when the Chinese Government is por suaded to deal comprehensively and thoroughly with this question a great step forward will have been taken towards promoting the country's prosperity and trade.
