On the 5th at 11,25-Pressurs has de- creased slightly along the coast 'from Shaoghal to Tourane and over N. Luzon. A depression appears to have formed in the China Sea between Pratas and N. Luzon. Its direction of motion in t present unknown. There is no indication of its approaching Hongkong, however.

The sanitary condition of the prison is good. The buildinga generally are in good repair.
The conduct of the European Officers has as a rule been excel. lent and that of the Indian Staff satisfactory.

The appliances for use in case of fire are in good condition, and the water supply adequate.
The rules laid down for the government of the prison have been complied with.
