The Panama Exposition. The Committee says it has been able to make favourable arrange- ments as regards the shipping of exhibits to San Francisco which would greatly reduce the expersen. both of the Government and of the manufacturer, and the further suggestion has been made that all British exhibita at the San Francisco Exposition, instead of being returned direct to England, should be shown at the Winnipeg and Toronto exhibitions in 1916. It is stated that this proposal could probably be executed free of all expense to the British Government and the individual exhibition, and that it would causs great gratification throughout Canada. Whether, in view of the addition of seven million pounds sterling to the Naval Esti mates in the coming year, the Committee will be able to per- suade any, onsiderable body of members of the House of Com mone that the commercial advan tages likely to accrue to the nation from official participation in the Exhibition would warrant a Par- liamentary vote of a quarter of s million remains to be seen.
