While between Nagasaki and Woosung on December 8 the P.M. steamer Manchuria sightet silis
bled fishing boat, the crew of which were making signals of distress. The liner bore down on them and, the ses being too heavy to lower a boat, the ship was allowed to drift down on her and the crew of six, together with twenty-nine passengers, were taken on board and brought on, to Woosung.
