Delays in 17.
We have now to report
paying the result of our investigations into Contractors. the complaints made by Contractors
and others employed to do Government
work that they
there is
are not
not promptly
paid. We have personally examined some of the Contractors, and find good reason to believe that the Government and the public have suffered from the dilatoriness practised by the Survey Department. The Contractors have been unnecessarily kept out of their
money for periods
ranging from one to six months.
