17th instant, requesting Messrs: Smith, May, and Stewart to act as a Committee of Inquiry into the general conduct of Mr Morsom

and particularly to inquire into

a special matter, detailed in that Memorandum..

The said Council

on the same date took

the Report of Messrs

Smith, May, and

Stewart which he had received on

the 13th instant, and which he regards

as most explicit and as containing ample information on the points referred. It was the result

of a very careful and protracted

inquiry. Members had already

enjoyed

every

opportunity of perusing
