If the Japanese Government sells crude camphor at the same price in America and Japan, more refined damphor will be purchased by American merchants thau crude.
Messre. Wheelock & Co.'s re- port for the fortnight ended December 10 states that there is little" change to report in the Japanese coal market and the Chinese dealers are still hanging back; prices in Japan have ad- vanced still further owing to stock being so short, and dealera are therefore still lose inclined to settle now at these high rates: they are consequently only taking enough to fill their immediate requirements in the hope of the W market easing up somewhat in the future.
