Chins Daily Nowe" of August 22, reporta that on "Sun- day, the 17th instant, whilst lying in Clipper Road, sheltering from the typhoon, she sighted some wreckage amongst the "breakera. with man upon it. A lifeboat was lowered and four men were rescued. At "11 a.m. the same day, she observed eight more men on a capsized junk and rescued five of them, the other three being picked up by the I-0.8.. Cheongahing, which was also lying there for shelter.
