New Hospital Opened in Singapore.

If a dog is ill, if it happens to contract any of the prevalent skin' diseases bare, says the "Straits Times," if it breaks a limb or a rib, the owner generally has only ona remedy in his mind-alther shooting or poisoning. The num.. ber of unfortunate animals that have died violently and unneces- sarily in Singapore, on aconunt of the ignorance or indifference, of their owners must be great. Fow people seem to have any sense of responsibility in regard to their pamine pets, and rothaps their only excuse for getting rid of a Rightly affected animal is that there have never been known facilition for effecting a cure in Singapore.

That, however, is now changed. Dog owners may now have the benefit of a dog hospital and the attention of a specialist to whom practically none of the common pases is hopeless. There has just been erected at Abram's Hore Repository a small dog hospital for the treatment of any animal that may be sent in. At present the accommodation is limited, but as the fact of its existence becomes known no doubt extension will have to be made.
