Official figures published by the Department of Agriculture and Commerce of the rice borvest last year show the output to be 50,240,153 koka, a decrease of 1,178,730 koku (2.8 per cent) on the figures for the prosting year, but an increase of 1,002,804 koku (2.2 per cent) as compared with the barvest of au average year. The conditions throng cut the period of cultivation were on the whole good, and the harvest was expected to be exceptionally abundant.
