China New Year:
In many parts of the Republio the officials have forbiden the people to celebrate the old style New Year, and in Government ciroles the event will pass without official recognition, which repre |sents a very violent change when compared with the former regime during which no official business could be transacted for dearly a month, the seals of the various offices being closed for that time.
We notice that the Minister of f the Interior has been pressing
