A passenger on board the P. and Olinor Persia, which ground- el off Sausset, ten miles west of Marseilles, recently, and was refloated, sends the following account of the accident:-

The linor had been steaming for two and a half hours at reduc od speed through a thick fog. Three bells (0.30 a.m.) had just struck when the look-out man in the bows oried, "Land right ahead." Almost simultaneously the bow of the ship ross and thore was a grating sound as it glided up a shelving beach.
