the following qualifications for the Office. I have been engaged in the active duties of my profession in this Colony for the past nine years.

I am the oldest Practitioner in the Colony, save Dr Lees; I have had the advantage of having been Hospital Surgeon, during the whole of my residence), and gained thereby, a large amount of experience which is certainly required in a Colonial Surgeon.

I am the senior Medical Officer in the service of this Government by aught, of itself, to be a strong claim for my appointment, if I was not otherwise peculiarly qualified to discharge the duties of the Office.

I trust His Excellency will well consider my application before finally deciding on his recommendation.
