6. I shall further expect them to make each a separate and confidential report to me every Monday (commencing Monday the Instant). Such report should in connection with the enforcement of the Law and suppression of gaming during the preceding days, detail all occurrences in connection therewith and all matters of interest connected therewith as well as suggestions to strengthen the Executive in upholding the Law.

7. It will be necessary, however, that Mr Deane warn the Police Officer, Inspectors and men, that any interference by them, or the laying of any information by them against gaming Houses will be punished by dismissal from the Force; and, if it be subsequently discovered that any House has been broken into or otherwise marked, owing to information secretly or openly supplied by any Member of the Force, without special authority for doing so from the Governor, as contemplated by Section 20 of Ordinance No 9 of 1867. Such informer will also be dismissed.

8. When called upon to aid the Captain Superintendent or Registrar General or their Chinese Assistants in suppressing any haunts of Gamblers, the Police must also understand that
