2. There matters which may raise a correction as to +61 of 1816 II. to Governor the amount of pension receivable by him. First, it is to be noted that the salary attached to the Office of Colonial Surgeon and borne on the Estimates is £800 per annum, and Dr. Murray was to receive £500 per annum accordingly. His salary, and paid at the rate of £300 per annum from 1st June 1861 to the 31st December 1866. Afterwards, from 1st January 1869 he received salary at the rate of £900 per annum, by permission of the Secretary of State, and drawing 1/2 pay at that rate.

4. Through exceptional local and personal arrangements, the salary paid to Dr. Murray has varied several times from 20th February 1889, to 31st May 1861.

3. He was subsequently allowed the privilege of Private Practice ~ of Office. He has during his tenure, moreover from 15th May 1889 to 11th December 1860, and again from 8th May 1861 to 17
