it was arranged that sho should take the Langbank in tow for Bombay. After some difficul- lyn connection was established between tlio ressole, and-ultimate- ly, on Oct. 14, the Langbauk was brought safely into Bombay har- bour, the distance towed being about 650 miles. Plaintiffs claimed that by the services the Langbank was rescued from a position of great danger and anxiety.. Sho wns, they said, quite unable to assist herself and could never have reached port without being towed.
The defendants admitted the services, but pointed out that the weather was fine and the sc smooth throughout. They furiber said that the Langbank was in no real danger, and only required towngo.
The value of the Langbank, with lor cargo and freight, was £120,247, and that of the Mosunda €199,280.
The President, who remarked
that the services, though amount- ing to little more than towage, were well performed, awarded the plaintiffs £3,750. That sum he apportioned as follows To the owners of the Masunds to the master £975 and to crow #750.
