It seems to me very desirable that Your Lordship should be early in possession of copies of those documents, especially of Mr Deane's explanation, and comments in reference to the digest of Mr Rice's General Orders transmitted (85) by Major General Whitfeild without the knowledge of Mr. Rice's Superior Office in the Colony.
3. It does not seem to me expedient that a strong and so uncommunicative reflection, unjustifiably on the previous discipline and conduct of the Police force, should remain in Your Lordship's Office, without the explanation or contradiction so as to early afford.
