Perhaps one of the most curious freaks of sound dossimination in fog was that experienced by the d. N. steamer Anhui which hoard the fog gun being fired at Waglan whon the vessel was abeam of Single Island, a distance of over twenty milos. The gun was dis- tinotly heard by all on board and the sound continued uninter- ruptedly until Waglun was passed.
