in the first place to express the extreme concern, with which in Common with the Members of Council he has heard your present very serious and alarming condition of health, as certified by the Acting Colonial Surgeon.
The latter, as you most likely represent in your Letter of the 18th Instant, has stated to His Excellency that you "must stop all work at present" with the alternative of a serious "illness."
The Council has therefore advised His Excellency to grant you the full leave of absence immediately, commencing at once, so that you may not be called on to discharge Public function, and also that His Excellency may fill up the acting appointment as soon as possible, thereby preventing an anomaly whereby an appeal lying from a Judge in the Summary Court to the same Judge in the Supreme Court. In this way, you would likewise be relieved of all obligation to attend to business either in the Legislative
