from Mr Justice Ball
to Mr Edmund Sharp
My dear Mr. Sharp.
I hear it is your intention, in consequence of the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. Hazeland, to apply for the post of Crown Solicitor. Having been acquainted with you personally and officially for many years, I have much pleasure in stating that your professional character and qualifications are, in my opinion, such as to entitle you to favourable consideration and I shall be very pleased to hear that you have obtained the appointment.
Very faithfully yours,
Henry John Ball
