Work is post at the time of year now approaching to make all the requisite difference in the recuperature, and will enable me to land sufficiently early & have abundant free time carrying out this business Sustainably.
Nothing but the Absolute necessity imposed on me by the circumstances of the case could induce me to solicit even this limited favor - but I feel that, otherwise, I would be unable to resume my duties at Hongkong where I am most desirous to Superintend personally the carrying out of Ford Funterby's final instructions; and if I am disappointed in this Expectation, such a result would be for the remainder of my life a source of the most intense pain and regret.
