That your Memorialist is the Widow of the late Norman Macleod Masson, Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong deceased on the 18th July 1868.
That your Memorialist's late Husband was in the year 1852 appointed in the beginning of the Colonial Office to the Administrative Staff of this Colony of Hong Kong, whither he forthwith proceeded, that after serving for some months he was appointed Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court, which post he held until his death, that during the above term of service he was for lengthened periods in full charge as Acting Registrar, namely previous to the year 1860, when he returned £757.68. to England on sick leave. And Also £815.68. Continuously from 1862 to 1868, in consequence of the Registrar being either absent on leave or otherwise employed on the Colonial Staff.
