The weather was perfect and the races brought out large Gelds and were productive of intebely excities finishes; this was particolarly the case in the race for the Ladies Nomination when Resolu tion won; atter a splendid race, by & Dose from Double Dragou and Billy who were dead heat for second place. The attendance was quite up to the average, and the music provided by the Band of the Buffs addet much to the

Passing the Rock and down the incline Sidier Dho still bad 3bisadvantage. Yarboro successfully challenged Baluchi Chief for second place. Servian Chief adw drew away from the buach in the rear and keeping to the rails showed to the front in fine style, gamely challenged by Kera and Sidier Du, who, na the outside court was striving band to maintalo the leadership. Sidier Dhu could not resist Servian Chiel's challenge and Mr. Jobestone won by a short length from Lie, Brice's moudt. Kerry, one of the f.vourites, fialked third.

When the fag fell Roumanian Chief had the best of an indifferent start with Tomahawk second and Snooker third; the rest of the field was some distance behind. At the very outset Snooker forced the pace and drew level with the leader with whom he raced up the hill in partcership, closely followed by Tomahawk. For a while Specker took con mand from Roumanian Chief and passed the Rock in the van. Tomahawk was going in. fize style and overtook the leader golog past the village bead entering the home straight in front of the fi:id with Roamatin Chlef on the rails second and Snooker outside third Capt. Heathcole was riding easily and Tomahawk was never seriouly threatened. Walnut Tree sirove hard to get to the front, but only managed to displace Snooker for third place. At the Bowringlon gate Llama Chief again took the lead from Jack Scott and Odds On was held in last. Carnation began to do the pacing for Templation who got into fourth place at the rock, pursued by Tempta tion: The two favourites increased their pace at the villa, e bend while Jock Scott was losing ground. Entering the airs ght, Llama Chief had the smallest of a lead, Temptation being second and Odds On third. The race resolved itself
