ANOTHER DOARDING-HOUSE FAILURE: Re. Mrs. R. A. Ford.
Gedong and Isseug are at Upper Perak, asar the town of Bagno Serai, an important centre.
The present cultivated area of our properties, The Official Receiver stated that this was an as i have already stated, is approximately 5.377application for an order of bankruptcy. Mrs. across to 5,087 acres planted with approxi mately 757 136 rubber lices. 290 acres planted with approximately 19,280 coconut trees. All. the rubber planted on these estates, with the exception of about 752 acces, was planted in 1900 or prior to that date,
There were about 142,000 res, approxi mately 1,000 acres, in bearing on January 1 last, the date from which thi company took over the properties, and it is estimated that a further 1,500 acres will be tappable during this year-already a considerab'e portion of this area has come under the knife-and it is hoped that during next year the total area being tapped will be well over 4,000 acres,
ESTIMATED YIELDS
The estimated yields of rubber for the next four years have been put by our general masager at 351,000 lbs, in 1910, 685,000 lbs. in 1911, 1,020,000 lbs, in igra, and 1,530,000 lbs. in 1913.
A portion of the 1910, and 1911 crop has been sold forward at very remunerative prices. We have a comparatively small area, 290 acres, planted with coconuts, the greater portion of which is approximately three years old, and, although not at present a source of revenue, it should in das cquire add materially to our re-. celpis. We have on our estates over 10,000 acies of reserve lands, which it a very valuable asset, as cearly all of the land is believed to be suitable for growing rubber, and it is held on exceptional terms. Practically, the whole of this large area is held in propetuity, free from rent antil cultivated, and we are under no ob Tigation whatever to cultivate all or any portion of it, When we do open out the land and culti vate it the rent for which wo'shall be liable is only 50 per cout, (d) per acre per annum.
