I transmit to you for your consideration the copy of a petition addressed to me by Mrs Josephine Hawly, wife of Dr Indley Hawly late Surgeon in the 99th Regiment, praying that Inland lots purchased by her husband in Hongkong may now be resumed by the Government, subject to possible resumption of them hereafter by the petitioner, or her husband.
I have informed Mrs Hawly that her memorial has been referred for the consideration of the Colonial Government.
