I shall be happy to furnish my additional information, if required, in the event that this application should receive favourable consideration.

In the meantime, I remain,

Your Lordship's obedient servant,

Alexander B. Hutchinson,

Curate of Ross,

Clonakilty, Cork.

No. 2013-71 - Hong Kong.

MINUTE PAPER.

With reference to the above, I have already forwarded the papers on to the Secretary, E. W. Workman.

1244 of 25/71.

I have kept back this application for a few days, in the hope that, by so doing, I might be able to inform the applicant that the appointment had been given away; but now I think that we had better reply that the Lord Bishop will note his application for the Chaplaincy at Hongkong, but that, looking to the number of candidates on his Lordship's list, he fears that he cannot hold out to Mr. Hallowell much hope of compliance with his request.
