I had the honour to address to your Lordship, on the 18th of last month, a letter, in which I resigned the appointment of Acting Colonial Chaplain at Hong Kong.
I at the same time took the liberty of suggesting another Clergyman, should delay in making an appointment occur, intelligence had just reached me that my resignation had been accepted.
If no appointment be made, I trust your Lordship will not deem me intrusive in recommending for the vacant Office the Reverend John Alfred Laurence, B.A. at present Curate of ...
