The "Morning Loader" representative, when he managed to get up the stairs, found a lady receiving and reviewing the girls. "She had a business-like notebook is ber hands, and was jotting down in it the particularseach batch of girls gara io souwer to ber questions.

BUSINESS-LIKE ENDEAVOUR,

The lady explained, in a lull, that she was making a business-like effort to open'a new sphere of activity to women. Sandwichboard carr, ing, she admitted, did not sound parti. cularly enticing as a new profession for women, but under the new conditions which she pro posed to adopt it would not be quite the sâm e' thing as that with which the public were familias!

"And so that the girls shall want nothing I am biring a room where they will be able to assemble for their luncheon hour."

The lady. frankly admitted that she was not doing everything from philanthropic reasons alone. I believe there is mosey in it," she said, and that the public will respect and employ sandwich girls if they are looked after will. You see there are evidently plenty of pice gifts who do sol object to the idea of carrying a sandwich board, and under the con-- ditions I propose do not see that much can bs obj:clad to.
