VERDICT OF SPECIAL JURY QUASKED,

At the Supjoma. Court yesterday moming, a Full Court, consisting of Hob. Mr. W, Roos Davies, C., Acting Chief Justice, and Mr. Justice Gompertz, Poisne Jadgo, delivered a combined judgment in the case in which the President in longkong of the Basel, Evange lical Missionary Society brought so action for libel against the Hongkong "Sheung Po" Com pasy Limited, of 13, Connaught Road Central, and Hung Wa, editor, printer and publisher of the Sheung The action arose out of the publication of an article in the Sheung Po on the 34th December, 1908, which alleged that the plaintiffs caused an illegal operation to be per formed upon a pregnant woman, for which plaintiffs claimed damages, in the sum of $roj-- önn. It will be remembered that, in the courts of the original herting of the case, Sir Henry Berkeley, K.C., who appeared for the defend ante, raised the point as to whether the Prast dent in Hongkong of the Basel Missionary Society had the right of action, and at the time the Chief Judice reserved the point for the consideration of the Full Court.
