Sir,
I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to transmit to you, for the information of the Earl of Kimberley the enclosed copies of two despatches dated 15th November, with their enclosures from the General Officer Commanding at Hong Kong, relative to the protection of the Colony, and in which Major General Whitfeild suggests that the left wing of the 75th Foot be ordered from Singapore, and the Artillery augmented by a Battery.
Mr Bardwell has, in reply, informed the Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office.
