One of the Cooks shipped from Macao in the French Ships "Nouvelle Penelope" and who were reported was one of the Chiefs of the revolt & an accomplice in the outrage committed on board that ship was arrested at Hongkong, & his extradition was demanded by the Auths of Canton.
Having been indicted as guilty of piracy within the jurisdiction of that English Colony, he appealed to the Superior Court, & after prolonged discussion his extradition was suspended by Judge Sir Hale, subject to the decision of the English Govt.
The Attorney ... to the Crown protested against the respective sentence.
