A very important case was heard in the Marine Court this morning, when an inquiry. was hold regarding charges of miscon duct on the part of the Master and Mate of the British 2.1, Shiu 04.' Lieut. C. W Back,

was recovered. The only steps witness look was to ask the Chief Officer what he meant by kis action.

LARGE SEIZURE AT ILOILO,
One hundred and seventy-eight tips of opium, valued at over Pip,000, were seized by the internal revenue officials last Sunday morning after being let overboard from the British steamer Sungklong as that vessel was entering the harbour at Iloilo, reports the Manila Times af 5th inst.

This is the largest saizura that bas been made of the southern port slace the enactment of the present opium law, and the officers who made the baul are proud of their work. As the Sungklong came into the river and proceeded to her barth, a boat with internal revende officers on board followed along behind, and just as the vessel was berthing a large package was cautiously lowered from the forecastle of the ship.
