On the 23rd it 6 55 p-Signals lowered, 'On the 24th at 11.55 -The depression, which moved into the "North part of the Gulf of Tongking last evening, is this morning ap- proaching the neighbourhood of Haiphong..
The barometer has fallen considerably to moderately in Hongkong and över Formosa and the Loochoos; and fallen slightly over the E. const of China and the Son of Japan,
Pressure remains bigh over the Pacific to the E. of Japan. It is relatively low between the E coast of Chips and the N.W. part of the Son of Japan.
Moderate S.E, winds may be expected in the Formosa Chinnel, and strong but decreasing S.E. winds between Hongkong and Bainan.
Hongkong Rainfall for the 24 hours ending at to am, to-day, 2, 8-inches.
FORECAST.
1.-Hongkong and Neighbourhood, S.E. winds, strong to moderate; weather gradually improving.
