A representative of the Peking Daily News has had an interview with Sir John Lister, Kaye on the subject of the Ashui concessions. Sir Joba said: "I had a long talk with the Wai- wpa people the day before yesterday, and later and the Aubui delegates met. to them about the entire circumstances, Ab-lo interpreting. I have come up here in order to see them eys to cys and to ascertain why have been treated like this. I don't like this. I don't like to open the case bere again. The Finance Minister proposes that all silver coins, copper coins, and bank notes should be issued only by the Ministry of Finance, and that the Provincial Authorities should not be allowed to issue any form of curing to accept it.

Cantos, 8th June, Urgent telegrams have been received at Can- ton from various districts along the West River, reporting the visitation of disastrous floods for the second time this year. The districts flooded are the Tak Hing, Trong Nhị Sus Hive, Tung On, and the city of the Shiahing profectare, where the embankments, 'have given way in several places. The present floods. bare gained nearly the same height as that of Isat year The town of Fatshan has also been badly flooded since the 6th instant, and two man bara bees drowned.
RELIEF.
On being informed of the condition of affairs in the riverine districts, the Central Relief Committee yesterday hastened to prepare an expedition by the steam launch Kong Loi to proceed to the flooded districts with rice, gunay bags and other articles in assist the sufferers.
CANTON UNDER WATER;
In consequence of the 'beary and incessant rainfall during the whale of last week and the welling of the river, all the streets in the Western suburb of this city have been under water knee-deep during the latter part of the day for the last few days. Great inconvenience has thus been felt by pedestrians, In come

RELIEF JUNK LOOTED.....
On the 2nd instant the jook: Yu Choung Lot, carrying a large quanlity of rice from Canton to the district of Kwong Ning for the relief of the flood sufferers, was attacked by pirates when passing by the Samshui district. "The pirates tooted the vessel. On the following day, is guard boat stationed in the vicinity was informed of the occurrence, and the soldiers. gave chase and succeeded in recovering the rice for the junk, while; the'pírátes affected their escape.
