Qaite a sensation was created in the Colony at an early hour this morning when the news of the suicide of Mr. Reginald Harding, a local solicitor, became known. The intelligence was received in many quarters, especially among the legal iraternity, with sorrow, for Mr. Harding was a very popular figure with those who knew him.

When the vessel arrived in the bay yester day she was boarded immediately by the secret service officers of the custom house, and within a short time Assistant Chief J. J. Keith had discovered 41 fins of opium and 25 package of lottery tickets, each package containing 30 tickets. These contraband articles were, of course, confiscated, but the coup d'etat did not happen" until the Yaeneany's second officer was arrested ashore, having on him 9 tins of opium and a goodly number of lottery tickets.
