King, the Canadian Government has now sanctioned without re- duction the claimi, amounting to $15,930, of the Chibese merchants who suffelejd losses during the anti-Asiatic flels at Vancouver in Septem ber 1907. As the sufferers bad spent soms miney in securing counsel, the Canadian Government has also gives them $1,000 In conclusion, Lord as legal expenses.
L Ching-fang adds that this friendly action on the part of the Dominion Government is greatly appreciated by the Chi nese immigrants not only in Canada, but also to other parts of the British Empire, and will fend to promote commercial and other relation belwaen the Canadians and the Chiness emigrants.
