The Kaiser and Kaiserin, with Prince August William, Princes Victoria Louisa, and a suite of 32 persone, arrived from "Pola shortly after half-past nine at the station of Meldling, a suburb of Vienna. It was a pleasant surprise" for them to find that the Emperor, instead of awaiting them at the Ferr ing station, near Schoenbrunn, had come there to welcome his guests 20 minutes earlier. The aged monarch, despite the chilly, showery. weather, drove to Meidling station in an open carriage without as overcont. He looked ex- tremely well, and was nothusiastically cheered by the crowds laing the streets, as it was the first time for many weeks that he had appeared In public.

After his short address the Kaiser embraced and kissed the Emperor, who, deeply moved, thanked his brother Emperor and the princes" for their good wishes and for the pleasure which their vish bad afforded him. He also trusted that it would continue to accord with the equally, peaceful endeavours of the other Powerr.
