PER MADE FROM

Peat, that black, spongy, fibrous material from the boga which has proved since the early| agen one of the world's principal fool agencies, and which scientists say is but coul in the making, has at last been turned into of

into other channels of successful manufacture. The phat bog-furpishes the latest substitute for wand im the making of wrapping paper and box board, and in Michigan the first peat paper mill in all the world le producing a superior quality of Abose grades coa commercial scale. It has been demonstrated that a ton of paper, worth from 5 to $30, can be made from peat at a total cost of a little more than 58, while the usual grade of straw board costa nearly $20 to produce. This low cost is dus, of course, in a large measure to the cheapress of the raw maferial and the ease with which it is obtained, but it is also due to the simple and quick pro cess by which it is turned into marketable board The entire operations, from the peat

in bundles and loaded on cars, are all accom plished in two hours.
