'STRANGE,PLEA OF ACCUSED.
San Francisco, March 27. Chang (one of the a-qatlants of Mr. Stevens), who has been prosecuted on a charge of "pre- meditated murder, was summoned before the Magistrate at to o'clock this morning. An ap plication made by the prisoner to postpone the trial for the purpose of collecting evidence was agreed to, and the trial was adjourned until Fri- day, next,, On behalf of the prisoner it has been decided to plead insanity.

An accomplice, Den, who was shot by an other Korean, and at first said to be killöd, but who is undergoing treatment at a bospital, will, be summoned as soon as he is well enough to apprar. The police are strictly' watching this man, lest an attempt should be made. by the Koreans to get him away.
..In reply to a journalist who inquired as to the reasons for the Koreana' hatred of Mr. Stevens; Den stated that a Korean newspaper, the Dalkan, was published in Seoul, which, two. years ago, discussing the Japanese-Korean NOTICE TO SHAREHOLDERS.
