Mr. Farman hopes to win the Datly Graphic prite within the next month or two. He will compete for it at Brooklands, where the ground, it is understood, has already been marked out With this accomplished—always supposing he is successful--he will return to Paris, and with the £3,000 he will then have won'it is probable that he will set to work so to perfect, bir machine as to be able either later this year of next to compete, if not for the full distance London 10. As to the, chances of other English competitors for these prizes they are at present somewhat remote, although it is understood that it may not be long before definito fights are made by Mr. Moore-Brabazon, Mr. Howard Wright, and Mr. Roe, who are making excellent progress with their machines, to say. nothing of the Army aeroplane in which Cap- per is deeply interested. All these machines, however, are at present some distance behind Mr. Farman's in point of perfection in practical work and results.
