Four part dealers, carrying on, busineu in the Wanchi Market, may, perhaps, bavo to | stand trial for manslaughter in the course of a few days... The hawkes is now lying in the Govern ment Civil Hospital in a critical condition and so hopes are entertained of his recovery,

The facts of the case, though meagre, are to the effect that some time yesterday morning the hawker went to the pork dealers stall and or dered a calty of pork, Scales, which had been teed by the police to days provjously, were produced, and the meat weighed and handed to the hawker. The latter in turn produced scalea of his own, and found after weighing the pork for some time that it was five mace short in weight. Some, words were exchanged, and the bawker left the market. What transpired after this is not altogether clear, but it is said the hawker returned to the pork dealers' stall in a short while. One account is to teffect that the quarrel was renewed, during which the hawker was beaten and then handed over to the policeon a charge of disorderly behaviour.
